I am having so much fun with the mantel in our apartment! I didn’t post it here on the blog, but if you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen part of my Christmas mantel. That one was a lot of work! I love decorated mantels so much that in our old house I considered having a faux mantel.
I wanted to go with something simpler for Valentine’s Day. Oh, and another requirement? I didn’t really want to spend anything. So I went on a little Valentine’s treasure hunt around the apartment and on Pinterest. Here’s the result!
Here’s a rundown of how I put it together:
I found this cute “love” printable from Moritz Fine Designs via Pinterest for the centerpiece of the mantel. I printed it, trimmed it, added a red border, and then used a frame I already had to hang it.
I created the border by layering lots and lots of red circles punched from card stock.
I have a spinning frame with four sides, so I printed these four Valentine printables for it:
I created some X’s and O’s using card stock.
Next I threw some red and silver wrapped Hershey Kisses in a jar with a pink ribbon next to a Valentine’s tin that we’ve had for years.
A couple years ago my sister gave me a frame with the phrase “Life Made Us Sisters Love Made Us Friends” on it. To me, Valentine’s is about all those you love and not just your significant other, so I thought it fit in perfectly!
And that’s it! By using things I already had, making a few other things, and utilizing those great free printables, I put together this simple Valentine’s Day Mantel for FREE. You can’t beat that!
