    Our Pregnancy and Birth Story

    Over eight months. Wow! It’s been over eight months since sweet Little Brother came into our lives. Life’s been crazy since he was born: summer kept us busy, we moved, and then came Thanksgiving, a birthday, Christmas, New Year’s, and another birthday. It’s been a whirlwind! So it’s taken me a while to get here, but I wanted to sit down and share our story. The story of Little Brother and all we’ve been through since we first heard he was on the way. Get comfy. This could be a long one. September 19, 2013–We find out we’re having a baby! We’re keeping it quiet though. October 13, 2013–The day…

    5 Weeks

    It was 5 weeks ago today that Little Brother (as we’ll be calling him around here) arrived. We’re so excited, and just love him so much!         {Hospital photos taken by Bella Baby Photography} It was quite an experience and there was a fair share of excitement along the way. We hope to share our pregnancy and birth story soon. Little Brother is doing well, though, and growing like crazy as you’ll see from the pictures below!     {Weekly picture inspiration can be found here} He’s such a doll! You may have noticed he’s on oxygen. That’s something I hope to talk about soon, but rest…

    Brother Shirts {And a Cute Newborn Shirt}

     There’s not a whole lot to say about these except, aren’t they just too cute?!? We’re taking them to the hospital to hopefully get some cute shots of the new brothers together. They’re going to be adorable together! Here’s a close up of each…   Adorable! I created the shirts using freezer paper stenciling and fabric paint. If you’ve never tried it, you should check out this video tutorial. It’s super easy and fun! While I was at it, I decided to make this little cutie too: Ahhh! So cute! Hopefully, I’ll have pictures to share of the boys in the shirts soon! {See my inspiration for all these shirts here…

    Hospital Maternity Duffle Bag {And Some Help Packing It}

    Sometime in the process of perusing blogs and Pinterest while preparing for Little Brother’s arrival, I decided it would be fun to make a new duffle bag for our hospital stay. I looked and look on Pinterest for an easy {and free} pattern and came across this one from Family Ever After. UPDATE 11/12/18: You can see a picture of the original pattern here, but the pattern is no longer available. 🙁 With some minor modifications to the measurements to make it bigger, I was able to easily sew this cute bag. I already had all the supplies, so it didn’t even cost me a penny. Score! There’s plenty of…

    Nursery Tour {Corner Nursery In A Master Bedroom}

    Yesterday marked the 38 week mark for this pregnancy! Only two more weeks to go until the due date, and we can’t wait! We’re wondering if maybe our little guy may even decide to arrive a little early. If he’s ready, then we wouldn’t mind that at all. Little Man keeps saying he wants him to “come out”. Me too, buddy! He’s going to be the best big brother. I wanted to capture and remember how he’s always kissing and hugging “the baby”/my belly, so we snapped this picture last week: He’s just so sweet! Time seems to almost be standing still. I’m thankful that the rest of the pregnancy…

    Simple Countdown to Baby

    We’re getting closer and closer to Baby’s arrival! Little Man can’t quite grasp the concept of time and when Baby is coming, so I thought a countdown was in order. This gives Little Man (and me!) a visual of the days until the due date. It’s also a great way for him to participate in something involving Baby.   Each circle has details about that particular day. Little Man takes down the circle from the previous day as we countdown to the due date (they’re attached with a glue that removes easily). Before we know it, there won’t be any circles left. We’re so excited for this baby to arrive!…

    The Secret Is Out!

    Well, we’re not so great a keeping a secret, I guess. Even though we planned to wait, we went ahead and shared the news an hour or two after we opened the envelope with the baby’s gender. The Big Guy just couldn’t wait. It looks like I’m going to be very outnumbered with another Little Man on the way! Little Man has been hoping and praying for a sister, so he was a bit disappointed. He actually ran to his room crying! So like any good parents, we tried to get him to take a picture with the baby gender card. He threw the card and dove under his bed!…

    Baby Is A…

    Today we get to find out if the baby is a girl or a boy! I’m excited, because this means I can really start planning and getting things ready. The Big Guy can’t make it to the ultrasound though, so I threw together the card above. I’m going to ask the ultrasound tech to circle the baby’s gender and seal it in an envelope. Then, when The Big Guy gets home from work, we’ll open the envelope and find out together! I hope it’s not a late night…the suspense is going to be killing me! We’re planning on keeping the gender to ourselves just a little while longer, though, so…
