Free Printable Straightforward Summer Countdown

This year I decided we needed a big printable summer countdown. We love a good countdown here. I’ve been making them for years, but I wanted to do something quick and easy this time. It’s working great so far! The boys enjoy taking a day down at the end of each of our school days.

Instructions for Printing

To print your summer countdown numbers follow these steps:

1. Download the file and save to your computer.
2. Open in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
3. Open the print dialogue window.
4. Make sure that “Fit” or “Shrink oversized pages” is selected under the “Page sizing and handling” section.***
5. Click Print

***If you don’t want full page numbers, choose “Multiple” under the Page sizing and handling section, and then choose how many pages to print per sheet.

To print your summer countdown sign follow these steps:

This one is a little trickier to print, so please read carefully.

1. Download the file and save to your computer.
2. Open in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
3. Open the print dialogue window.
4. Under the “Page sizing and handling” section, choose “Poster”.
5. Change the “Tile scale” to 25% (unless you want a bigger sign).
6. Click Print.

Putting Your Printable Summer Countdown together

Once you have everything printed, trim your sign and tape the pieces together, so that is looks like one large piece of paper. Now you’re all ready to put your countdown up! We used tape to fasten ours to a wall in our school room, so it’s also easy to remove.

Get creative if you’d like. You don’t have to put the numbers up exactly as we did. One other idea is to stack them on top of each other and take one off the stack everyday. If you use this printable, we’d love to see how it worked for you. Show us your countdown on Facebook or Instagram.
